Alexis Smith

Alexis Smith (b. 1949, Los Angeles, CA) is a Southern California artist widely known for her focus on mixed-media collage works that explore society’s fascination with popular media and advertising through witty juxtaposition. Smith attended the University of California, Irvine where she graduated with a B.A. in 1970. Throughout her career, Smith has exhibited extensively. A career-retrospective is slated at the Museum of Contemporary Art, San Diego for 2021.
