Archiving Your Work
How do we keep track of images, titles, dimensions, notes for each work made?
We are often asked to provide images of our work with comprehensive information, and this can be a daunting task.
In 2018, we conducted a survey of Now Be Here artists to gauge interest in programming and community conversations. The resources listed below address some of the most frequently cited areas of concern. Each area prioritizes free resources. Resources that can only be accessed with a fee but could deeply help your practice are listed, some at a discounted rate offered specifically to Now Be Here artists. With any service, please do your homework and make sure it is a good fit for you. This is intended to be a researched and recommended list of resources, and we welcome your suggestions. Please send your ideas to nowbeherela@gmail.com.

The 2018 Now Be Here survey brought forth several significant areas of interest for our community to discuss and explore–imposter syndrome, ageism, coping with rejection, and resilience. The list here is a response to these topics and is a beginning.
As artists, our bodies are our tools, so keeping ourselves safe from the hidden dangers in the materials we use is a high priority.
Contracts can be confusing, lawyers’ fees can be intimidating, and all this can combine to make me and other artists sometimes want to bury our heads in the ground. Our work is our intellectual capital, and we need to safeguard it with the resources available to us.
Tracking your income and expenses is another aspect of running a studio that can take a lot of time and can run counter to the creative process. I’m a big fan of programs that save time and automate tasks that I would rather not do.

How we use your information:
I have been asked repeatedly to share the lists that have been compiled. Much to their annoyance, I do not share the Now Be Here e-mail lists.
