I create utilitarian, sculptural objects that weave together comforts of the home with the uncanny. The work lies at the intersection of art and design. Familiar objects are transformed into artworks that have multiple meanings and purposes, such as Untitled (throw) displayed as a surreal, freestanding sculpture and an object used for warmth, comfort and play. My practice refers to ideas of transience and permanence of the body, personal experience and historical reference. Personal trauma, such as postpartum depression and a family history of addiction have led me to create this work that deals with the space between love and loss.
