I paint whimsical and monstrous composite bodies, beautiful grotesques and alien familiars. Using vibrant color I create densely textured paintings integrating multiple materials and figurative styles. These combinations constitute a Mongrel Manifesto. By combining the familiar and the strange, I combine the self and other, to make a new third possibility. The combination is not one or the other, but both and neither simultaneously: a bridge, continuum or chrysalis. Figures exist outside the constructed dichotomies and definitions of gender, species or beauty. I celebrate the wonderfully strange, undefined and interconnected.
