Anne Murray

My work focuses on vulnerability. From deeply personal investigations to social practice, I create intimate fabric sculptures, private performance videos, and sound work as installations connecting to the life experience of the Other : the octopus, the rock, the insect, the frog, are all protagonists in my delicate explorations. From this internalized perspective of the Other, I extend my research to the most vulnerable people creating everyday items such as hundreds of bags for people fleeing the war in Ukraine who I help on a daily basis, and backpacks for the homeless in my neighborhood I made during the pandemic.
