Water Verse pieces combine a digital photograph printed on one piece of rice paper with a water-based monotype on another piece of rice paper. After being infused with encaustic wax medium, the paper is cut into strips and plaited together in various weaving patterns. The finished piece is ironed to re-melt the wax and fuse the two pieces together. These works float between abstraction and realism, capturing the tranquility of moving water. Works from this series are in private collections, and the collections of various hospitals in the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center system.
