BELÁXIS BUIL is an interdisciplinary artist who examines material, space, and her body in relation to objects and others. Her work investigates the definition of identity and the political dangers asserted on gender. Buil intersects fashion, performance art, installation, sound & vidoes creating dystopian environments. She performs mythological portrayals of women and is liberated by confronting the representation and histories of women as objects. She blurs the liminal spaces between the fictional and historical representation of women to rewrite gender tropes that restrict the path of a woman’s true liberation.
