In my bronze sculpture series, Fallen Men, I want the gestures to convey and open-ended message. One such piece, “Shushing Man,” offers an invitation for several interpretations: Some viewers see this piece as a figure protecting our privacy, some see it as an enforcer of silence about an unspoken secret. As an ancient, yet contemporary material, bronze is timeless. These figurative wall pieces in poses of intimacy can broadly be seen as descriptive of a ‘kinder’ society, perhaps achievable in the future. My vision for a better world.
