My art explores the similarity between seemingly disparate cultures through the lens of racism, sexism, and “History”. Examinations include what societies value, language and familiar relationships, the natural world, and Home. My grandmothers’ delicious meals from their gardens and chicken coup, combined with bounties foraged by my hunting, fishing, handymen family members inspire my fascination with sculptural forms, both natural and manmade. My Sculpture Necklaces include those components–oxtail, sparerib, marrow bones, plus nails, fishing weights, and my ceramic creations combined with beads I source from myriad venues.
