Cynthia Berkshire

Cynthia is a NYC choreographer and performer. Her projects construct narrative worlds from moving bodies, video and soundscape, creating characters at turns deeply human and abstract. Nourished by skills as a graphic artist, filmmaker and collaborator on theatre productions, her performance work unfolds through surreal, layered language to create poignant imaginary yet recognizable worlds. Revealing social predicaments reverberating from distinct personal moments, she has a commitment to expand accessibility of creative movement through community workshops investigating the project themes.
