Debra Jenks

Debra Jenks is an interdisciplinary artist working in photography, drawing, sculpture, video, artists’ books, poetry and ephemeral public projects that meld fictive and autobiographical narratives on class and consumerism. Mimicking the tourist town she hails from, Jenks creates her own visual brand of theater of the absurd; incidents or interventions in the public domain; amusing scenarios and tableaux that engage and entertain. Her awards include a New York Foundation for the Arts Fellowship, and residencies at Yaddo, Blue Mountain Center, Montalvo Arts Center and The Edward Albee Foundation.
