Elisa Ortega

elisa ortega montilla is a Spanish-American artist based between California and Barcelona, Spain. She completed an MFA at the University of California, Santa Barbara and is currently part of the Independent Study Program at the Barcelona Museum of Contemporary Art (MACBA). Her work explores her experience of being a woman and her feminist values; her bicultural experience; and her opposition to consumerism and commitment to environmental sustainability through the discarded materials she works with.
