Emily Joyce

Emily Joyce’s paintings investigate the resonance of mathematics in the natural and built world and art history through pattern based and rhythmic abstraction. Her work has been included in exhibitions throughout the United States and in Europe. In 2016, Joyce began a secret practice of making diaristic visual poems combining archival images of ancient theatre masks and collaged text. In 2019 Hesse Press published a collection of these poems entitled “A Cigar Caught In The Lilies”. Joyce writes poems and short stories and is the lyricist and vocalist in the band Puzzle Blood.
