Hope Ezcurra’s art is about decay in all its forms. Ezcurra primarily creates memento mori upcycled/recycled assemblage. Her artwork speaks to the terminal elegance of life and fragility of nature. Using the lens of visual art she examines human mortality and natural occurring entropy through a death positive perspective while simultaneously looking at the venality of environmental degradation caused by our consumerist society and how it intersects with racial inequalities, colonialism, and class disparities. Her curatorial projects and art work are a love letter to the rust and stardust in us all.
