Jackie Battenfield

I am known for luminous paintings and prints of natural forces. My work explores my fascination with the most abstract qualities of landscape— most recently the natural unfolding and leafing of a tree branch. I have been making and exhibiting my work for over forty years. Hundreds of prints, paintings, and mixed media pieces have found homes in public and private collections throughout the United States and Asia. I complete 6-8 site-specific commissions each year. Public commissioned painting projects include the New York City Metropolitan Transit Program, and ceiling murals for New York University Langone Center.
