My work addresses how humans interact with and perceive the world around them. I work in a variety of media, often incorporating fiber techniques. My handmade paper sculpture explores concepts of destruction and regeneration and the basic geometry revealed in an object’s structure as it grows or deteriorates, with a particular interest in microscopic organism and fossils. My work using recyclable materials (with its own site: www.materialworld.studio) invites viewers to take a closer look at what they discard every day, with an emphasis on encouraging creative alternative uses and valuing the ordinary and overlooked.
