JoAnne McFarland

JoAnne McFarland is a poet, painter, and independent curator. She is Artistic Director of Artpoetica, a project space in Gowanus, Brooklyn focused on work that is both literary and highly visual. She is the former Exhibitions Director of A.I.R. Gallery, established in 1972 as the first artist run gallery in the U.S. specifically for women artists. McFarland’s current works include oil paintings on linen and wooden panels, dress collages from antique papers, and digital bookworks with animated text.
