My work involves colors, textures, materials, techniques, comedic intentions, and serious whimsies. I call myself a fiber artist, but I am called artist, maker, or crafter, depending on who is giving the designation, and where they stand in the world. I create for all the same reasons I breathe: it’s involuntary, automatic, and necessary for life. My medium is fiber because . . . what else is there? My subject matter includes environmental pollution, yarn graffiti and public installations.
