Kathi Flood

As a self-proclaimed ‘guerrilla sociologist’, I offer colorful narratives about life in Los Angeles. My wallworks, assemblages and installations tell stories of bloated consumerist values, driving habits, social and political issues, and the struggle to remain expressive in our current corporatocracy. I use etchings, drawings, fibers, text, and gutterwalk findings on antique supports to tell humorous, sentimental, bombastic stories that catalogue our responses to urban life. I work tongue-in-cheek, and cram my art with worthy objects, objects with a rugged complexion and empathetic potential.
