A dedicated conceptualist and surrealist autobiographer, I address the de(con)struction of self in relation to society’s perception/projection/reflection of beauty. My multidisciplinary work focuses on the complexities of body image and the societal privileging of women’s physical beauty over character and intellect. Inspired by artists such as Lynn Hershman Leeson, Meret Oppenheim and Baroness Elsa von Freytag-Loringhoven I use everyday objects, paint, photography, performance, written word, video, photography and conceptual social practice to investigate, document and challenge personal and universal ideas of self and society.
