Lauren Steinberg

My work integrates photography, graphic design and sculpture to explore unconscious themes. I make and collect objects, then situate and photograph them as uncomfortable still lifes. In addition, I alter and recontextualize images from forgotten catalogs and books. All this is done in an effort to synthesize remotely associated elements of thought into new visual and cognitive combinations; to illustrate the process of meaning making.
