Leslie Awender (pronounced AH’ vender) is a photographer and installation artist who uses a range of processes to create lens-based and cameraless silver prints, tintypes, Polaroids, and digital images. Her work has been published in The Photo Review, and her Chinese Lantern photographs were an Official Selection at the International Photography Awards. Her critically acclaimed series Virginia Red Earth inspired an expansion into three dimensional work with her suspended living sculpture, Two and a half, four and a half, six and a half. Awender’s book Variations on Mira is in the Museum of Modern Art/Franklin Furnace Artist Book Collection.
