There are no accidents in my paintings. My art is made in painstaking detail using gouache on paper. In my paintings the images seem innocent, but if you consider them in the context of historical and pop culture, the sexual messages are implicit – the names we give candy and fruit often overlap with names we use to describe sexuality. My paintings are layered to engage in the blending of sex, psychology and the creative process.
