Through my artwork, I intend to stimulate a public reflection across communities on how gender-based violence has become an integral part of society. I create aesthetic spaces which shed light on the relationship between women and violence, and how gender-based violence, particularly targeted at women and children, seems to be an accepted part of life; a sort of never-ending contemporary femicide. I try to give a voice to women who have lived and continue to live in silence through these acts of abuse. My intention is that the aesthetic environment I create contributes to raising awareness about women in marginalized communities.
