Daughter of an immigrant mother, Conchi’s work reflects her own cultural diversity and calls into question social constructs that pertain to identity. She uses this intuitive approach which develops organic shapes and abstract designs seen in more intimate works which favor working in an unscripted, moment by moment impromptu style. Conchi creates intimate interactive sculptures that invites the viewer, as observer and participant, into a visual dialogue. The sculptures are reflections of direct and indirect experiences that bring into question social constructs that pertain to identity.
