Molly Schulman

My work wittily confronts constructs like artist as celebrity, exclusivity, accessibility, and hierarchical systems. Humor, language and perception are recurring themes in my work. Most recently, I have been making interactive sculptures and installations as a way to explore questions surrounding the commodification and value of art. The interactive element in these artworks adds a sense of joy and accessibility for my audience, while also commenting on the absurdity of modern life. My work aims to provoke a thoughtful and playful sense of revolution, blurring the lines between art and commodity, form and function, the real and surreal.
