Monica Lundy is an Italian-American visual artist who lives and works between California and Italy. Lundy’s work draws on site-relevant archival research, unearthing stories from the past, on which her work is based. With an emphasis on installation painting, Lundy’s work utilizes non-traditional media, such as liquid porcelain, clay and burned paper. Lundy holds an MFA from Mills College and a BFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Selected achievements include an Irvine Fellowship, San Francisco Arts Commission Grant and the Jay DeFeo Award in painting, and she has been an artist in residence at the American Academy in Rome.
