Pauline Galiana

I work simultaneously on distinct bodies of work, from collages to paintings, ephemeral installations to small-scale sculptures. My work often addresses the broad theme of deconstruction versus reconstruction, mixing instinctive states of mind with freehand and formal associations, using obsessive and meditative processes applied to rigorous grids. Each body of work is meticulously planned and executed, so that even the common motions of looping or sticking or sewing paper become, like the media I use, transformative.
