Sally Smart

Sally Smart is an Australian contemporary artist recognised for her large-scale cut-out assemblage installations and more recently cross-disciplinary work in dance performance and video. Her practice engages identity politics and the relationships between the body, thought and culture including trans-national ideas that have shaped cultural history. Smart is currently Vice-Chancellor’s Professorial Fellow at the University of Melbourne, and was recently appointed to the Council of the National Gallery of Australia, Canberra, Australia.
