I am inspired by memory, chairs, patterns, or bad news. I search for forms. I love color. A friend summarized my work as: Memory, Family, Color, Form. I approach with creative destruction, changing and turning objects, figures and symbols into complex color fields. Until the pattern, shape, and color pleases me: “balanced”, large/small, dark/light, intense …but not. When story is driving the work, it also has to remain, even if only I can discern it. They start as some “thing”, they grow and finish as color and shape puzzles.
