I use common materials such as; tar roofing paper, drinking straws, pom poms, to remake the known (rivers, iceberg’s, nuclear power, starlings in flight) into something transformative. The architecture of a space becomes as integral to each piece as its content. Working site-specifically, I have made work for elevators, stairwells, floors and ceilings, parks, and storefronts that consider and integrate function, place, and community. I have exhibited nationally and internationally, with work in permanent collections and have received noted grants, fellowships, residencies, reviews and have had my work published in books.
