Trish Tillman

Trish Tillman uses household décor and the idea of luxury to explore the visual devices of commemoration. Her provocative, upholstered altars contain references to family dynamics, sexuality, gender inequality and imbalances of power. Tillman received her MFA from School of Visual Arts in 2009, is a recipient of the Hopper Prize, a Joan Mitchell Foundation Grant and a Fountainhead Residency, among others. Her work has been reviewed in ARTFORUM, Sculpture Magazine, ArtFCity, Juxtapose and Artsy Magazine, and she is represented by Asya Geisberg Gallery in NYC.
