Tsedaye Makonnen

An interdisciplinary artist who is a daughter of Ethiopian immigrants, a Black American woman, a mother and former doula. She has completed a Smithsonian Artist Research Fellowship, Martha’s Vineyard residency, performed internationally at Venice Biennale, Art Basel and more. Her light monuments memorializing Black womxn have been exhibited at the August Wilson Center and National Gallery of Art. She recently curated a show titled Black Women as/and the Living Archive and is publishing a book. She is a part of Park Armory’s upcoming 100 Years | 100 Women.
