Nicola Ginzel

Recently, I received a US Fulbright Scholar Grant to participate in the Q21 Artist in Residence Program in Vienna, Austria, where I worked with my host institution, Lumine, to transform the façade of the prestigious Palais Equitable Building. Within its left exterior corner is Vienna’s oldest landmark, a Nail-Tree Talisman. I am interested in transformation—often taking materials that do not fit together and merging them. The ephemeral and the concrete follow suit, as there is an underlying temporal quality to my work. Intention and ritual are unanimous to my creative process.
