Virginia Broersma

I am a Los Angeles based artist whose work focuses on patterns of representation through figurative painting. Extensions of my studio practice involve curating, writing, collaborative projects, public art and organizing support for artists. My recent focus in the studio has been on sites of leisure, and (by extension) sites of power dynamics, political resistance and autonomy. I pull from the art historical canon, contemporary experience and intersectional feminist discussions around the necessity of rest and leisure.
