My art practice merges a range of disciplines including sculpture, ceramics, drawing and painting. This Limoges porcelain work was created as part of an ongoing series of head forms entitled The Worry. Based on observation, these are not portraits in the conventional sense. These are intimate, hand-formed works created in residence at the European Ceramic Work Center in The Netherlands. This glaze is an experimental volcanic lava meld. Exhibited on tall, narrow pedestals the works are meant to be experienced at the viewers eye level, at once monumental and intimate.
