I use whatever is at hand to make art. Collecting materials on walks, up-cycling household detritus and using traditional art materials are the core of my practice. One may find a feather, a shoelace or dry-cleaning bag plastic alongside cotton, silk, and wool in my tapestries. The process of hand weaving is slow and inefficient according to contemporary standards allowing me to ruminate on the incorporated words and phrases in the tapestry. The inception and outgrowth of my art making is emotional truth and storytelling.
