Anja Marais is a South African born and USA based visual artist. She is a multi-disciplinary storyteller. She studies the intersection of beneficial disintegrations of systems and transgenerational transgressions. She holds multi-awards that include the Harpo Foundation Grant, The Ellies Creator award, and a finalist for the Orlando Contemporary Art Prize. Her recent installations were on display at the Harvey B. Gantt Center for African-American Arts and the Corcoran Gallery in DC. She received her BFA(hons)(1998) from the University of South Africa.
