Gayle Nicholls-Ali is a fine art photographer, educator, and community organizer whose work bridges personal narrative, place, and cultural memory. An Altadena resident, she creates images in a contemporary documentary style that blend observation with lived experience. Working in both analog and digital formats, she embraces the tactile history of photography, often using vintage cameras and hand-processed film. Following the Eaton Fire, she founded Altadena Photographers, a recovery initiative dedicated to preserving photographic legacies and rebuilding creative community through collective action.
