Rainbow Squared Year 2 (Composite of 49 Animation Stills)
I am a social practice artist currently using animation, assemblage, text, duration, and performance to investigate where art, parenthood, documentation, and magic overlap. I am currently in my fourth year of an ongoing project and weekly practice called Rainbow Squared. Each week yields an animation and essay based on two colors following a 7×7 rainbow grid, resulting in 49 pieces a year and a divination system in development. Originally from outside Detroit and currently residing in San Francisco, I hold a BFA in Sculpture from Washington University in St. Louis and an MFA in Social Practice from California College of the Arts.
