The Embrace of My Peace (Method)
San Francisco-born, Inglewood-based contemporary artist Marie-Jose began painting in 2016 with the goal of using surrealism as a tool for introspection or inspiration for an unseen future. Many scenes offer dreamlike cloudscapes and thematic metaphors representing life, love, courage, and vulnerability. They utilize acrylic paint, gouache, decorative paper, faux pearls, shells, and other materials to enforce the complexity of our human nature. Their work has been exhibited across several states, and they recently participated in an Artist in Residence program in Fukuoka, Japan.
