Osiris Munir

I am greatly influenced by the works of Madame Marie Laveau, Lee Krasner, Jackson Pollack, Jean Michel Basquiat, Yayoi Kusama, and a few others. Most paintings that I work on are based on the optical characteristics of brilliant colors, energetic and expressive brushstrokes that deliberately emphasize the sweep of my arm and movement of my hand. Curator, Carla Goldberg of the Bau Gallery and Skylight Gallery in New York, describes Munir as a “Visual Intuitive or Intuit Abstract Artist, who uses her art as a spiritual connection that allows her to lead the way as images form through the layers of paint.”
