Art is an expression of my past: of being taken by my parents as a child from country to country, being bicultural and bilingual, and adjusting to vastly different environments. It is also an expression of the present since I now live between Latin America and the United States. So many of today’s issues, such as immigration and the role of women in both societies have had an impact on many of my pieces. My painting style is expressive and my subjects are mostly figures, silhouettes and landscapes. For this application I will be submitting figure paintings. In these works, women are often the subject and are made mostly in acrylic paint.
