Inspired by living and working around the world, Rosemarie’s paintings celebrate nature, math/physics, and ideas that have influenced the course of history or changed the way we think about the world. Rosemarie uses acrylics, gouache, flashe, gold leaf, mica chips, and handmade paper to create her jewel-like paintings. Her uplifting style mixes matte gem tones with metallics to achieve a look reminiscent of Byzantine art or 15th century illuminated manuscripts. Rosemarie often paints in a series. Subjects have featured female scientists, her declassified diplomatic reporting cables, and equations that changed the world.
