Simone Lourenço

Working primarily with paper, Simone interprets nature (her favorite subject) from memory, drawing with pencils, markers, and x-acto knives. She explores color and pattern intuitively, with music as her muse and companion in the studio. Simone often titles her works after songs, a practice that she considers an homage to all the great storytelling that she hears while creating. Simone’s pieces celebrate sight, sound, texture and above all, like nature itself, cyclical and ever-changing beauty.
