Virginia Katz

Through a concept and process-based approach, I focus on the mediation between Art and the real world. My studio parking lot has become the center of my attention, recreating my experience of it through painting materials and practices. Katz has exhibited in the U.S. and abroad. Her recent solo exhibition was at the Long Beach Museum of Art in 2023 and she participated in the recent Getty PST, which was discussed in Artforum and in the PBS film, “Art and Science Collide”. Her work has been reviewed in Art in America, The LA Times, and Artillery. Public collections include The Hammer, Grunwald Center, LACMA, Riverside Art Museum and others.
