Artist Talk: Njideka Akunyili Crosby

Maryland Institute College of Art Painting Department

October 25, 2017 5:00 pm

Join us at the Falvey Hall auditorium at the Maryland Institute College of Art to hear Njideka Akunyili Crosby, winner of the 2017 MacArthur Genius Fellowship, talk about her new suite of works on view at the BMA with BMA Senior Curator Kristen Hileman. Her layered, mixed media paintings explore the artist’s experience of moving from Nigeria to the United States and navigating cultures. Learn more about the meanings embedded in her complex constructions composed of paint, fabric, and photographic transfers.

This program is presented in partnership with Maryland Institute College of Art Painting Department and the Baltimore Museum of Art
