Alicia Wyneken

Alicia Wyneken is a French, Los Angeles–based interdisciplinary artist working across painting, sculpture, and installation. Rooted in minimalism, her practice employs a restricted palette of blue, white, red, and black to explore systemic power, bodily vulnerability, liberty, and collective memory. Drawing on the pigment-based practices of mentor Rachel Lachowicz and the explorations of power, embodiment, and material transformation found in Mona Hatoum and Kiki Smith, her work investigates tensions between permanence and decay.
