Marta Chaffee

I was born in Pasadena, California, and now live and work in Pacific Palisades. After studying at Occidental College, UCLA, and the Arts Students League in New York, I earned an M.F.A. from Otis Art Institute. My painting work often depicts panoramic vistas of the horizon and close observations of grasses, reflecting years of traveling the California coastline. My drawings have been described as meticulously etched soft pencil marks, meditations on light, time and movement within the landscape. My work has been exhibited throughout the United States as well as Seoul, Korea, and is held in numerous private and public collections.
