The images in my paintings are filtered thorough my history, imagination, and my dreams. They focus on nature, water, and the emotions that I traveled through. My paintings are a reflection of my experiences and growth. After going through Katrina I know how things can change. The artwork reflects my adjustment to these events. These pieces are painted in layers. Each painting begins with a light wash, and then layers are added to create color and dimension. The pieces are painted in gouache and watercolors or acrylics. Each painting is alive with motion, line, and color. These paintings are a place for the viewer to connect with the paintings as it relates to them.
